Payment Types Accepted: Visa,Master Card, Discover,Check Description: Here is a war time production Enfield No2 Mk1** revolver in .38/200 Webley caliber. These were manufactured after WW1 when the British government needed to update the aging Webley revolvers in service. The first design was with a full hammer and then quickly changed when the British tank service expressed problems with the external hammer snagging ongear. The Enfield No2 Mk1* was fielded to meet these concerns by removing the hammer spur and converting the revolvers to double action only. During World War Two the design was simplified further to make it easier to produce by using plastic for the grips instead of wood and some other small changes mostly to the finish. This revolver is a No2 Mk1** it has the war time plastic grips and the simplified finish. It was manufactured by the Royal Small Arms Factory in Enfield, England identified by the 'D' with a line through it present on the frame and small parts. These revolvers are a bit 'loose' to civilian firearm standards but this is normal for a No2 Mk1**. The earlier versions were 'tighter' fitted but this was part of the war time simplification process and this revolver is in perfect safe working order. The revolver has a couple small nicks and the grips show some wear, but nothing out of the ordinary for a war time service firearm. It comes with an original British webbing holster. The holster is in excellent condition with working snap and all three webbing hooks are present and serviceable. It does have some thread wear at the bottom toe of the holster. Pretty standard for war time use. This is a nice revolver to put in a World War Two collection and would go great next to an Enfield Rifle! As far as ammunition goes, you can use .38 S&W in these with no problems.
