This is a very nice, lightly used 70-Series Colt Combat Commander from Colt's Custom Shop with an Electroless Nickel finish. It was manufactured in 1979 and comes complete with it's original box, owner's manual, shipping bag, and assorted paperwork it shipped from the factory with. The bright factory finish shows some scattered minor handling/storage marks and some tiny dark spots in places from prior surface rust, but there are no eyesores or bad spots that stand out. As you can see from the pictures provided, the gun has a very attractive and clean overall look to it. The bore in this Combat Commander is in excellent shape, mirror-bright with sharp rifling and no visible imperfections. The original checkered Walnut grips are in excellent condition, free from any cracks, chips, or repairs. Both grip panels have perfect gold Rampant Colt medallions and clean original screws intact. The checkering on both grips is clean and crisp. The action on this Colt is smooth, slick, and precise, with an excellent frame-to-slide fit. With the slide locked into the battery position the barrel is rock-solid. All of the controls are in perfect working order and we have no doubt that this Colt will function like-new. If you have been looking for a vintage 70 Series Combat Commander for your collection that you can enjoy as both a shooter and investment, this 1979 Electroless Nickel Custom Shop example would be an excellent choice.
