Description:
PREFACE:  The M1 Carbines I sell are not just for shooting, althought they can do that too.  I have totally disassembled each rifle to check parts authenticity and integrity.  I take over 100 photos if you want a closer look.  When I say 100% CORRECT it means that all the parts are the same as that particular manufacturers production block left the factory with; not necessarily the exact same part, but an identical replacement.  A field grade M1 Carbine is neat to have, but if you want a colllectore grade rifle such as mine, they cost more.  Check for yourself what USGI original used replacement parts cost today.  A premium stock set can cost $595, Type II Barrel Band $345.  NOT CHEAP !                                                                                                                          My Saginaw S.G. M1 Carbine is from an old collection of M1 Carbine and other military rifles.  The over-all condition of the metal, bore, parts, and stock lead me to believe this rifle didn't see battle field action at all.  The fact that 100% of the parts of this rifle are USGI correct for the serial number, production date, and part type identification makes it a true collector grade M1 Carbine.  The only reproduction parts are the olive drag sling and kahki carry case.
First, this Saginaw S.G. produced rifle is one of the over 3 million total carbines; M1, M2, T3, and M1A1 models, produced by three different divisions of General Motors in just over three years.  A considerable contribution to the over all WWII fighting efforts.  Second, there is no evidence of this rifle being modified by military armorers either during or after WWII.  Those parts that are supposed to be identified by manufacturers stampings are, and those which are unmarked have been verified as correct based on published photographs from noted M1 Carbine authorities and collectors.  Third, based on the condition of this rifle it must have been stored and cared for properly.  It not only looks pristine but is fully functional.
The following is a list of all of the parts to this carbine based on type, stamping, picture verification, or measurement according to Roger Larson's book "Comprehensive Guide M1 Carbine", which is a must have if you are interested at all in M1 Carbines or miltary history for that matter.
