I often hear the phrase "time capsule" and I firmly believe this applies to this gun. This is a Browning Superposed 20 gauge Lightning model with 28 inch barrels and full and modified chokes. This gun was originally acquired from a gentleman that purchased it from his friend's widow. He told me it had never been fired and I doubted that until I received the gun and opened the box. This gun is in as perfect condition as any gun I've come across which is remarkable considering it was built in 1968 making it 52 years old. I honestly don't believe the gun has been assembled since it left the factory. The hinge pin still has all of the original color, the barrel lugs show no signs of being opened and closed, and the breech face is virtually perfect. And the stock is in wonderful condition as well. I can only find one small imperfection in the checkering on the left side of the forend. Other than that one small spot the gun is as close to perfect as you will find. Since this gun was built during the Browning salt era and a round knob short tang gun I decided to pull one of the screws from the original butt plate and the screw is as new as you can see in the picture attached, perfect, with no sign of rust. This gun is so nice I couldn't bring myself to assemble the gun for fear of putting marks on the barrel lugs. Take a look at the pictures and trust me anything you see on the stocks is simply lighting glare, there are no marks, impressions or dings. If you have been looking for a 20 gauge Superposed for your Browning collection, or you want to just start with a new, old Browning to hunt with, this will certainly fit the bill. Weight of the gun is 6 pounds 9 ounces and length of pull is 14 1/8 inches. It will have standard Browning drops of at heel and comb which I can't measure because I didn't assemble the gun! It comes with the box shown missing part of the label, original owners manual in black envelope, and warranty booklet. Price of the gun is $3250 plus $50 shipping to your FFL. As always there is a three day non-firing inspection period with the buyer paying shipping charges if returned. I'm not really worried about this gun being returned! Contact me at with any questions.
