Description:
For Sale 1920 Takedown Savage Model 99 two barrel set. Serial number 298736. Rifle caliber in 300 Savage and shotgun barrel in 410 gauge. Rifle has a 24 inch blue barrel with a very good bore. Traditional sights, no extra holes drilled - some bluing wear on muzzle and a few scratches on front side. (see pictures). The shotgun barrel in 410 gauge has a 24 inch length (intended for single shot) and a 2 1/2 inch chamber with fixed full choke. It has a shinny bore and in excellent condition. Overall, the gun is in solid working condition with normal wear and handling marks for a 100 year old gun. Bullet counter is in working condition, some bluing wear on bottom side of receiver and scratches from handling. The forearm is in good condition with extensive checkering, serial numbers match barrel. Custom butt stock has 3 ivory (maybe) inlays, compass inletted (face of compass cracked, still works) with a check piece.There is a visible crack top side of stock at tang, appears to be fixed.
