MAUSER P-08 "POLICE BANNER" LUGER RIG, Cal. 9mm, Ser. 3111 X.
Very rare and in super condition. During the war very few P-08s were made with the Mauser commercial banner and high polish. These were made exclusively for the Nazi police. This is one of the very few that survived unscathed.
It's is outstanding, retaining 97-98% of the original finish. The little wear there is, is from some very slight sharp edge silvering and side plate wear. There are no rust spots, pits, scratches or rub marks anywhere. The right side of the slide is stamped with the police inspector's Eagle/L. The left side, the commercial Eagle/N proof. Still intact is the rare "Police Sear Safety" only found on police guns is located above the side plate.
The grips straps show no graying. All parts match. The wooden grips, other than a few flattened points, are great. No splits, chips or dings. The grip screws likewise. The bolt face, slide rails and feed ramp show little if any use. The bore is super, mirror bright with razor sharp rifling. The complete rig includes a correct police holster in fine condition. With al stitching intact. It is stamped under the flap, "L.P. Th. No. 1345" for "Landes Police, Thuringen, No.1345". Two correct police " Haenel"Schmiesser" silver magazines correctly police numbered 1 & 2, non-matching and an original P-08 take down tool.
