Finished in the Enid shop in 2005, a 505 Gibbs on a Granit Mountain Mag action. Match grade 24” barrel with like new bore and chamber. Integral ¼ rib and integral large recoil lump. One standing and two folding leaves express sight. Barrel bend sling swivel and bended front sight with Recknagel fiber optic front sight and hood. Weight with the claw mounted Schmidt and Bender rail scope (1.1-4 x20 Klassic N1 German post reticle) is 12Lbs. 12 Oz , and 11 Lbs. 9 oz without it. Claw mount bases are mounted in the double square bridge of the action and all the surfaces along the sight plane are hand engraved to avoid reflection. Magazine box takes three cartridges, three position safety, rolled edge trigger guard. Dark well figured walnut with straight grain in the grip , two cross bolts, glass bedded, two screws back sling swivel. Length of pull is 15 1/8” over a 1” Limbsaver fitted later, drop is 1 5/8” and 2 ½’ with ¼” cast off making the rifle point well with iron sight and the recoil manageable.
The rifle has been to many successful safaris, harvesting both elephants and cape buffalos. It bares the marks of a hunted piece, with the bluing on 95% original condition, the wood in 90% and the checkering in 98% condition. Built to withstand the toughest conditions.
