Description:
this is a Harrington & Richardson replica of 1873 Springfield trapdoor in 45-70. It has a post front sight and a rudimentary vernier rear peep. I gotten bitten by 45-70 bug about 5 years back( if you’ve seen my other listing all is explained) and about 3 or 4 years ago I walked into local pawn shop just browsing and there this one was, hanging at the rifle rack. I inspected it and I really couldn’t tell if it ever been fired and I thought it was really neat and since I was all into casting and loading 45-70, I bought it. They wouldn’t deal on price either.
I probably haven’t put 50 rounds through it. Rifle shoots and handles well but I’m all into sharps long range now and this has become another safe queen so it needs to go.
Honestly, you’d have to look hard to see if it has been fired. Thing still looks new. It’s got couple of dings on wood but not much, bore is good, trigger breaks crisp but it’s not a set trigger and I’ve not put scale on it but I expect it breaks 9-10 lbs, give or take.
On my other listing I forgot to mention shipping so I’ll do it here , just in case. I don’t know exactly what it cost to ship , but last time I used local gun shop they charged $35 so that’s what I’m putting as shipping
