Description:
     BEAUTIFUL 100% CORRECT INLAND M1 CARBINE !
PREFACE:  The M1 Carbines I sell are not just for shooting, although they can do that too.  I have totally disassembled each rifle to check parts authenticity and integrity.  I take over 100 photos of each rifle if you want a closer look.  When I say 100% CORRECT it means that all the parts are the same as that particular manufacturers production block left the factory with; not necessarily the exact same part, but an identical replacement.  A field grade M1 Carbine is neat to have, but if you want a collector grade rifle such as mine, they cost more.  Check for yourself what USGI original used replacement parts cost today.  A premium stock set can cost $595, Type II Barrel Band $345.  NOT CHEAP !                                                                                           This WWII produced Inland M1 Carbine is just one from an old collection of M1 Carbine and other military rifles.  The metal on the barrel, receiver, bolt and all other parts is estimated at 95% plus but does show some slight use wear on contact points, so it has been used to slight degree.  The barrel is in excellent condtion with the riflings and lans being very pronounced.  The rifle's over all condtion and all of the parts being USGI correct for the serial number, part type identification markings, and production date makes it a true Collector Grade M1 Carbine.  The only reproduction parts included are the olive drab sling and kakhi carry case.
Inland Division of General Motors, along with General Motors Saginaw Divisions in Saginaw and Grand Rapids, produced over 3 million M1 Carbines in the M1, M2, T3, and M1A1 configurations in just over three years; arguably the most efficient and reliable manufacturer.
The rifle I am selling has no evidence of being modified by military armorers either during or after WWII based on the fact there are only initial inspection stamps on the barrel and stock.  The parts that are supposed to be by manufactures stampings are, and those which are unmarked have been verified as correct base on published photographs from noted M1 Carbine authorities and collectors.  Based on the condition of this rifle it must have been stored and cared for properly.  It not only looks pristine but is fully functional.
The following is a list of all of the parts to this carbine based on type, stamping, picture verification, or measurement according to Roger Larson's book "Comprehensive Guide M1 Carbine", which is a must have if you are interested at all in M1 Carbines or miltary history for that matter.
