Sold only as a pair and cased as shown, these are 2 great revolvers. One is the military version, US Army stamped on the butt, the other is a commercial version with a commercial serial number on the butt, and there is a star stamp just visible under the lanyard swivel, indicating factory re blue at some point long ago. Both guns are in excellent overall condition, with excellent, bright, clean bores and cylinders. Neither set of grips are numbered to the guns. The grips on the miltary version appear to have been "boned", or rubbed hard with a piece of bone or more often shed antler. Soldiers of the time were taught to do that to compress and close the open wood grain on the stocks of their new guns to reduce the amount of moisture that could be absorbed by the wood under wet conditions in the field. If done aggressively, this pressed, distorted or downright eliminated any inpector stamp on the wood. The grips on the commercial version are correct, and very nice. Both guns lock up tight, function as they should and are certainly shootable. These are both nice guns. $65 shipping to the lower 48, 3% surcharge for using a CC.
