Colt U.S. 1911 Cal .45 ACP, Ser 124306.
This beauty is an Augusta Arsenal mid wars refinish. Surprisingly the gun has not been upgraded to First an A-1. Initially it was it has been Parkerized with at least 98-99% of it remaining. The little loss there is, is from some very slight sharp edge silvering. Probably due to holster wear. The gripstraps have not even started to gray. The left side of the frame has the correct Circle GHS inspector's's stamp. The gun's original condition prior to refinishing appears to have been flawless. There is no sign of many rust, dings or scratches under the new finish. Then a new WWII barrel correctly stamped Colt .45 Auto was also installed. The WWI grips were replaced with perfect Colt WWII plastic grips. The feed ramp, slide rails and bolt face show no sign of use, The bore is minty like the rest of the gun, mirror bright with razor sharp rifling. Without a hint of frost. For the investor/ collector it is A rare variation of America's most iconic side arm...........$2295.***.
