Description:
When we shot this at our local range, the old timers skidded to a stop to drool over it. Just a simple, early Winchester single shot, but with virtually perfect blueing and stock finish. 27" barrel has a bore that can easily be mistaken for NEW. Walnut finger groove stock is made from an unusually nice piece of lumber, and exhibits figure more on the level of a higher-end custom rifle. Has later vintage Winchester logo pad installed, bringing pull to 13-1/2" from the trigger. Patent pending on front sight and safety suggest a first year rifle, 1934 or there abouts. Has nice crisp, sharp edges at muzzle, loading port, etc, crisp lettering, beautiful rear sight. Muted case coloring on the cocking knob. Nickel is flaking off the bolt, which is typical.
