WHAT WE HAVE HERE IS A CUSTOM RIFLE. The RECEIVER IS A STAMPED MODEL 39, THE BARREL IS STAMPED AS A 39-A, PER-SAFETY, PEEP SIGHTS, HIGH GRADE ATLEST NUMBER II OR BETTER WOOD STOCK & FOREARM, Serial Number HS 2XX, Manufactured between 1932 & 1938 per MARLIN. This is a 3-diget serial number very low number and rifle is marked for HIGH SPEED AMMUNITION. I contacted MARLIN about this rifle and the records show the production date as listed. I asked about the posibility of the 39-A Barrel and I was told that most likely someone sent the rifle back for some type of repairs and the barrel was replaced. That was the only explenation Marlin could tell me about this rifle. As far as know Marlin replaced the barrel at factory with this 39-A barrrel. It apperas to be fired very little, action is very tight and smooth, Barrel EXCELLENT, inside of RECEIVER IS EXCELLENT also,looks to be a HIGH GRADE WOOD, BEAUTIFUL WOOD, EXCELLENT over all rifle. These HIGH SPEED OLDER RIFLES ARE GETTING HARD TO FIND. Take a look at the pictures and you decide. Everthing fits percictly and is tight just as suppose to be. Anything you might see in the pictures is a smudge or oil marks. All items sold as is no returns. Shipping will be a flat rate of $45.00 from me with a copy of my drivers license provided they will send me a copy of their FFL information. If they will not accept it from a individual and it has to go FFL to FFL Please add. $25.00 for this service. Insurance may be ourchased at $1.55 per hundred if purchased.
