Liege Proofed European Double Action Revolver
Here we present an antique Pinfire Revolver, made in Liege circa 1870.
Casimir Lefaucheux patented the pinfire cartridge in 1835 and son Eugene designed the pistol. The pinfire cartridge was one of the first successful self-contained cartridges in history, and the pistol saw prolific use in Europe during the 19th century, even being adopted by some militaries and police. The frame has Liege proof marks.
The overall condition is Good. The bore is shiny. The action is strong with the exception of the trigger return spring. The markings are clear. A very neat piece to start a new collection or supplement and existing one!
