Rare .32-20 WCF Revolver from Spain Made by Guisasola!
Here we present a Guisasola Bros. & Co. .32-20 WCF Double Action Revolver manufactured circa 1920 in Eibar, Spain.
This was a clone to the Smith & Wesson hand ejector double action revolver. Virtually all the major gun manufacturing companies had to deal with cheap imported firearms, but none were as troublesome as the Spanish imitations. The cheap firearms appealed to the public for their affordability, but once the cylinder revolved and the trigger pulled, they were exposed for the cheap sons of guns they were. There are stories of such guns being made with cast iron barrels and blued to fool the untrained eyes. It’s a wonder we even have an example here after the federal courts ruled that 22 brands of Spanish revolvers be excluded from United States imports!
The top of the barrel stamped "GUISASOLA BROS & CO EIBAR SPAIN". Left side of barrel is stamped "FOR 32 WINCHESTER CTGS".
The overall condition is Fair. The action is functional with the exception of the trigger return spring. The bore is dark, but still shows remnants of rifling. The markings are clear. A unique revolver with an interesting story!
