ENGRAVED/ETCHED Ornate INDIAN TALWAR with Red Felt Scabbard
Interesting Calvary Style Sabre Made in India!
Here we present a Calvary Style Sword and Scabbard made in India.
The Talwar, is a type of curved sword from India. Many variations exist, from swords with double pointed tips to executioner style blades. This example is similar in design to the US Model 1860 Light Saber in its size and shape. The tip of the blade is double edged about one quarter the length of the sword. The grip is made of plastic composite and is formed into colorful stripes. The grip is unusual in appearance but feels comfortable in hand. The etchings are in an odd pattern and separated into squares but look great.
“VTC/MADE IN INDIA” is engraved into the left langet. This talwar is very solid. There is nothing loose fitting, even the hand guard is seated tightly. The red scabbard has an external lining made of felt that’s in great shape.
The overall condition is Fine. Both sides of the blade are mostly ding and dent free. The sword easy to draw. All markings are clear. An interesting, and very colorful sword for display or collecting!
