Likely a converted, surplus Civil War canteen without any visible makers markings. The canteen has the 1 1/2" cottonshoulder strap and Chambers buckle. These were used by State Militias well into the Spanish-American War era. This one has Massachusetts unit markings and is in very good condition with the usual corrosion on the nut and plug top. The canvas shows light soiling and use marks with sound stitching. SOLD |
