Hammerless Sidelocks - This BEST Churchill sidelock was built between the wars in 1929. This is the period that many experts consider the very best English guns to have been built. Beyond the top of the line craftsmanship this is a stunning example of what Churchill could achieve to make a short barreled gun swing like a long barreled gun through perfect attention to weight and balance.
You might notice that this sidelock has no pins. The top grade Churchill\'s are what the English trade call "pin less." This is just a further step in the long process of building a BEST gun with the intent to make the gun more attractive by hiding the sidelock internal screws so they do not show on the outside. This allows for more uninterrupted engraving thus enhancing the beauty of the locks.
