Description:
Very rare, and totally original, and untouched one piece walnut gripped, short barrel (4 3/4"), .45 cal. in factory nickel finish. The true die hard collector of Colt single actions would know that any 4 3/4" barrel gun with original one piece wood grips is scarce, especially rare is one with a nickel finish. This gun has not been monkeyed with like most. Never cleaned or polished, and remains just as found. Excellent and very tight mechanics, all 4 clicks, very nice original screws with most retaining some of their nitre blue finish on most, and all factory markings are very nice and clear. Very good/excellent bore. The gun also has an "overrun" (which were leftover parts from a previous military contract) D.F.C. marked cylinder in it, which is original, and used on some of the civilian guns from about 1884-1886. (See "A study of the Colt Single Action Army Revolver" by Graham, Kopec, and Moore, pg. 51). This is a nice crisp old Colt, and comes with it's original holster that has been with the gun forever, and factory archive letter.
