Payment Types Accepted: Description: REDUCED FROM $1750 TO $1350! I AM MOVING AND DOWNSIZING AND NEED TO SELL! This is a very nice example of a Leman Pennsylvania longrifle, circa 1850. Henry Leman made these in Lancaster, PA and sold to the government and as trade rifles. I'm hesitate to part with this rifle, because I've had it for over 50 years. As a teenager I fired this rifle several times, and it proved quite accurate. (I replaced the nipple before firing with a repo from Dixie Gunworks.) But since then it has primarily been wrapped in a blanket and stored in a closet since 1970. It's time to pass it on. This particular example has some differences from other Lemans I've seen. Most are larger calibers - this is about .36 caliber. The stock is a nicely figured cheery wood. (I've never refinished - just cleaned and paste waxed when I first bought it.) Barrel is octagonal, heavy metal, and well rifled, measuring 39 inches long. Overall length is 55 inches. On the side plate is LEMAN / LANCTR, PA. The pics show that some of that engraving has worn down. Also on the flat of the barrel is faint script engraving - "Le" can be seen, but that's about all. It's obvious that this longrifle has never been abused and is in overall very good condition. As mentioned, I fired this in the 1960s, but it should be checked by a gunsmith before attempting to fire. I AM MOVING AND DOWNSIZING AND NEED TO SELL - REDUCED FROM $1750 TO $1350! Shipping is $50 in continental U.S. - I will accept credit cards and cashier's check for payment. Other guns from my collection will be listed in next few days. SOLD Antique: Yes Manufacturer: H.E.
