Description:
Superb and RARE Webley & Scott 28 gauge double-barrel sporting shotgun. S/N 137***. Anson Deeley style Boxlock action with extensive engraving. Checkered pistol grip stock and checkered beavertail forend with an Anson style front release. 26" Barrels with solid, matted, tapered rib. Mechanics are on face and tight as new. Bores are excellent. Double triggers, automatic safety. 2 3/4 " chambers. .550 bores measure about .510 and .520 at muzzle as near as I can tell and appear to be Full and extra Full with brass gauge. All original finishes rate 98-99%. Vivid case colors remain on the receiver and accents. Nice stock dimensions at 1 1/2 drop at comb, 2 1/8 drop at heel and 14 3/4 LOP to front trigger. There is a RH cast off of about 3/8".
This is a very light but extremely well built and well-balanced shotgun at around 5 lbs.13 oz. Comes complete with a Brady canvas covered, red-lined case in good condition other than some torn lining in the one corner.
