Browning Belgium-made 20 gauge superposed, serial No. 58XX is a Grade 1 with magnificent
engraving and a gold trigger. This gun is sharp and well cared for. Browning began
the Belgium manufacture of 20-gauge superposed in 1949, making this a fifth-year gun.
Choke upper barrel is IC, and lower is *S* and length of pull is 12.5 to the wood ans 13.5 to
the Browningbutt pad.

The 20-gauge, due to its much lower production numbers has a higher value compared to
the 12-gauge and fetches at least $1,000 premium, according to historians. You can choose
to use this gun regularly or on special occasions in the field shooting upland gamebirds.
Alternatively, you can keep it as an investment piece above your mantle, doorway or
entrance hall. By the same token your investment gun can be taken down from display
and used ocassionly or regularly on the sporting range (most authorities agree that 20-gauges

Whether you use it as an investment or to shoot, this 67-year-old Browning
will only increase in value over the years if properly maintained as it has been, and
being sold as is with so little use.
Browning invoiced this gun in early June of 1953 (Patent No: 22033782233861).
This gun in excellent condition; two experts, one a dealer, rated the wood as "phenomenal" with
practically no handling wear at all. Both bores are bright and all the mechanisms shine with
sharp edges as if freshly deburred, evidence of extremely little use. The owner doubted that
two boxes of shells have been through it. The works are tight and smooth: $4,500.
