SOLD.
COLT 1911 38 SUPER. LNIB. This collector-grade Colt is EXCEPTIONAL. Scarce in 38 Super. Was $3,350. While few guns 50 years old can be documented as unfired, this example shows little or no sign of use. Blue is 99% with no loss or sharp edge wear anywhere. Slide is like a mirror on both sides. Any streaks or imperfections in the photos are just oil, glare or lint specks. Coltwood grips are likewise as new, with typical slight shrinkage found on every example. They have some interesting streaks of light and dark color. Bore is like new, and chamber feed area and magazine show no scuffs or signs of cycling ammunition. Only minor flaw is typical light "idiot" take-down mark. Even includes spare Colt magazine in the original Colt-logo clear plastic wrapper (which has been opened), as well as the original Colt literature. Box is worn and lid is separated at all four corners, but still all there. Yellow box end label is missing with only a tiny remnant of what appears to be the black and yellow Colt label remaining. Box is unmarked but bottom is numbered to the gun in black marker in the same large distinctive slanted hand-writing as other vintage Colts of that timeframe. Tough to find one any nicer. For sale ONLY where legally transferable. Nope to NYC, MA, DC, HI, Chicago, etc. Verify with your FFL first. Inspection period ends the eariler of (1) the 3rd calendar day after delivery of the gun to FFL, (2) the gun leaves the FFL or (3) the gun is transferred by the FFL to the buyer.
