Description:
Engraved and Gold Inlaid Les Bauska Double Square Bridge Mauser Bolt Action Rifle in .505 Gibbs with Case.
Serial no. L1036, 505 Gibbs cal., 25 inch round barrel, blue/case hardened finish, highly figured walnut stock.  Built on a “Les Bauska BBK-02”; true double square bridge Mauser action (double lugs) and chambered in a legendary caliber that has been “the choice of Pro Hunters since 1911 and made famous by Ernest Hemingway. The rifle was originally put together by famous rifle maker Bill Bollinger and Dean Zollinger, where the original owner successfully landed several big five animals while on Safari. The firearm was then sold, completely disassembled and underwent a 3 year project making it the custom rifle that it is today.
The rifle was restocked by Larry Barry of Canyon Creek Custom Gunstocks with Exhibition Turkish Walnut and full barrel Pillar bedding, with over 20 coats of hand rubbed finish, right handed cheek piece, ebony “Macassar” forend Tip , mercury recoil reducers, cross bolts, African -classic red Pachmayr Pad, and Peregrine Custom checkering.
The engraving was done by group master engravers, Rocco Capece and  Jean Marie Marten on the receiver, along with  Angelo Bee on the barrel.  Profuse engraved scrollwork adorns the casehardened receiver, bolt cocking knob, floorplate and trigger guard.  The left side of the front bridge features a gold inlaid lion on an engraved background featuring a world globe map with “CONSERVATION OF” ABOVE THE Western Hemisphere and “PROTECTION OF” on the Eastern Hemisphere and the Safari Club Logo in the middle.  The reverse is engraved with the serial number inside a banner.  The left side of the rear bridge features a gold inlaid rhino head.  The reverse features a gold inlaid Cape Buffalo head.  A gold  inlaid elephant is on the floorplate, a gold African warrior shield with the initials “SCI” is on the trigger guard, and a gold cheetah head is on the grip cap.  The bolt knob has checkered and gold outlined panels.  The bolt is jeweled, and the trigger is charcoal blue.  The quarter barrel rib has a two leaf sight (one folding and one fixed) with gold sight lines and the caliber designation in gold.
The firearm has only been test fired once since the rifle was reassembled by legendary gunsmith Dave Norin.  Comes with a full length fitted European rifle case of oak and leather with burgundy interior and a leather and canvas case cover, a brown leather sling, and quick release slings.
In addition, the purchase includes 14 A-Square Dead Tough Soft Point .505 Gibbs ammo with 525 grain and 2300 FPS;  10 A-Square Monolithic Solid, .505 Gibbs 525 grain, 2300 FPS; RCBS Safari 3 Die Steel dies for 505 Gibbs, along with 100 new unprimed Brass casings to go with two boxes of 25 each of Woodleigh 525 grain Bullets to be used when reloading.
