Description:
William Schaefer was a small firm located at 61 Elm Street in Boston MA. His Guns were custom made to order. Most of his guns were plain with little to no engraving. What stands-out about his guns was the outstanding quality and fine fit and finish of his guns. There is congecture among historians as to whether he made the guns from scratch or ordered them " in the white" from europe and finished them to customer specifications in his Boston shop. I am inclined to believe the latter. This particular gun has beautiful "Bernard Damascus" barrels. These are considered by knowledgible gun experts to be the finest Damascus barrels ever made.
The gun has no serial number or markings except for the Schaefer name and one Leige proof mark on the barrel flats.
Here are the specifications:
12 gauge.
30 inch Barrel Length.
2 & 3/4 inch chambers.
Choked Improved Cylinder on Right, Modified on left.
14 & 1/2 inch, LOP to end of recoil pad. (about 14 inches to end of wood.)
Bright Shiny Bores
Locks-up tight with or without the forend attached.
95% Damascus pattern and color.(black & white) not brown.
Superb Turkish walnut stock.
Rebounding Hammers.NOTE: There were 2 places in this ad that listed this gun as a 10 ga. it is a 12 ga. Not a 10 ga.
Sorry for any confusion this may have caused.

William Schaefer guns are Rare! They rarely come-up for sale. This gun is priced reasonably, I doubt that you will find another one for sale at this time, or in the near future.
Price Slashed to $1500.00 Plus $50. Shipping.

This gun was made before 1880 and does not require an FFL.
