Most of this model seem to have been made in Rim Fire calibers or small Center Fire chamberings like .25-20 SS. Few turn up in the larger "deer" or target cartridges like this one in .32-40. This example has matching numbers on the receiver and barrel. While it has seen use, it is still in basically solid condition. The receiver is a dark patina while the 26" half oct. barrel has a more mottled brown mixing with a very aged blue appearance. Markings are fine. The barrel is mounted with a blade front sight made from a coin. The rear buckhorn sight is broken off and should be replaced. The butt stock is solid showing only normal handling. The forend has a 3 inch very shallow sliver out of the left forward edge toward the tip. The bore is a bit dark but has surprisingly fine rifling throughout with some corrosion ahead of the chamber with some scattered light roughness . Tight action with the lever spring only a little weak. This one came out of Eastern Montana.
