Description:
Colt model 1860 New Army 44 cal revolver. Very good package. All numbers match, Made first year 1861, and has elongated screw lugs for shoulder stock. Brass strap just behind the trigger has S stamped also another small stamp. Right grip has chip on top edge at butt strap. Bore has good grooves but has some pitting. (Please see all photos) Good strong spring and hand. Hammer and trigger action smooth and strong. Cylinder turns as it should and stops in the right spot, No sloppyness in cylinder. Hammer strong and firm at both half cock and full cock. Her nipples are not mangeled. Tamping lever works smoothly and locks back in place tightly.
Best I could find this was shipped July or August of 1861 to Capt. R Whiteley at Gov. Island, NY.
