Description:
Manufactured from 1981 to 2005, the Remington Model 7400 was a commercial success for the firm after establishing itself as a reliable, accurate, attractive, and well-made gas-operated semi-auto rifle.  For those looking for a dedicated hunting rifle that allows for very fast and effortless follow-up shots with minimal recoil, the Remington 7400 has been one of the top choices for decades.  This particular example is chambered in the well-respected .270 Winchester cartridge and was built in 1995.  It is in excellent condition inside and out, and likely has had less than a box of shells fired thru it since leaving the factory.  The gloss blue finish on this 7400 rates 96% plus with no actual finish wear from use, but some small tiny speckles and some spots where prior surface rust was removed as a result of a humid storage environment.  The two worst spots are a small spot on the right side of the receiver and the metal forearm cap, neither of which do much to detract from the clean overall look of the rifle.  The 22" inch barrel has factory iron sights and a perfect bright bore, free from any pitting, erosion, or visible imperfections.  The rifling looks like-new and is sharp throughout.  The factory checkered Walnut stock set is in excellent condition.  Both the forearm and buttstock are both free from any cracks, chips, repairs, or major dings/damage.  The checkered panels on the pistol grip and forearm are clean and crisp, free from any soiling or wear.  The buttstock has a factory installed Remington-branded buttplate, and the pistol grip has a factory-installed black cap on it.  The buttplate is in excellent like-new condition, while the pistol grip has a small chip off of the front edge from being hit in the safe it was stored in.  The length of pull on this rifle is 13.5" inches to the end of the buttplate.  All of the controls on this rifle are in perfect working order, and it comes with a factory 4-round detachable box magazine with a built-in bolt release lever.  The gas-operated action on this semi-auto rifle is smooth and slick, slamming home into battery with authority.  The internals of this rifle appear near-spotless and are free from any visible mechanical wear.  This beautiful Remington 7400 comes with a 1-piece Weaver base in excellent condition already installed on the factory drilled and tapped receiver.  If you have been looking to add an affordable, quick-shooting, low-recoil, accurate rifle to your collection this .270 Winchester caliber Remington Model 7400 would be an excellent choice.  It is ready to go to the woods as-is with iron sights, or just add a scope and rings if you prefer optics.
