"480" CODE REPLACES WALTHER BANNER ON THE SLIDE THAT WAS NEEDED AS GERMANY WAS NOT SUPPOSED TO HAVE A MILITARY AFTER LOOSING IN WW1. APPROXIMATELY ONLY 7,200 WERE PRODUCED STARTED APRIL 1940 AND CHANGED TO "ac" IN OCTOBER 1940. THIS WAS THE FIRST NAZI'S MILITARY PRODUCTION OF THE P.38 PISTOLS. THE MOST OF THESE GUNS WERE USED IN JUNE OF 1941 ON RUSSIAN FRONT WHERE NAZI'S WERE DEFEATED AND MANY THEIR SOLDIERS WERE KILLED. MOST OF THESE GUNS WERE LOST OR CAPTURED BY RUSSIANS AND SOME OF THEM WERE BURIED INTO THE GROUND. THESE GUNS SURVIVED ARE RARE IN ANY CONDITION ABOVE 90%. THIS PISTOL COULD BE ONE OF FEW EXISTS IN LIKE NEW ORIGINAL CONDITION WITH ALL ORIGINAL MATCHING PARTS INCLUDING ALSO LIKE NEW CONDITION ORIGINAL MATCHING 2 SERIAL NUMBER 5186 MAGAZINES WITH TWO E/359 STAMPED PROOFS ON THE SPINE. AND E/359 STAMPED PARTS INSIDE THE MAGAZINES AND GRIPS AS YOU CAN SEE ON THE PICTURES. NOT MANY GUN COLLECTORS COULD HAVE IT AS NOT MANY THESE PISTOLS ARE AVAILABLE, BUT HERE YOU ARE, YOU HAVE A CHANCE TO HAVE IT, DO NOT MISS THE OPPORTUNITY.
