Morris Melani of Alaska Arms LLC used a 24" Marquart cut rifled blank merging the concept of a ½ round ½ octagon barrel with the ovate profile.This blank was profiled to a full ovate octagon to round at the muzzle. The clean top flat interrupted near the breach with a sleek, low quarter rib into which a single standing rear sight blade is dovetailed. At the muzzle an integral small profiled front sight ramp is longitudinally dovetailed for Recknagel front blades. The top of the rib is well suited for matting or engraving as well as the ¼ flats of the octagon section. Addition features of the barrel include a integral recoil lug and an sling base that accommodates Recknagel sling loops. The raised quarter rib, front sight, sling swivel, and secondary recoil lug are all integral. Measures 23 1/2".
The stock is crafted out of exhibition grade Turkish walnut in a classic English style. Pachmayr deccelerator 1" pad, Steel grip cap, inletted rear sling swivel, steel cross bolt, ebony forend tip, and wrap-around 22lpi point checkering with a mullered border. 13 3/4" LOP.
Crosshatched matting on the quarter rib, gold inlay on the bolt shroud and around the barrel.
