Most knowledgeable fine shotgun experts acknowledge Abbiatico & Salvinelli (A & S) guns as some of the finest 7 pin sidelock shotguns ever made, with chopper lump barrels, meticulous polishing and fitting internally, perfect wood to metal fit and 32 lpi checkering, and of course that engraving! A & S are often credited with establishing the Italian engravers and the art of bulino style engraving as the pinnacle of the engraver's world. This gun, sn447 built in 2005, was engraved by Bonsi and the bulino scene likely by the second signer, Shidini, certainly some of the best engraving you will ever see...period! There is no wear on this gun, with 100% blue and factory finish overall, weighing just 5 3/4lbs. and balanced gracefully between the hands, single non-selective trigger, perfect mechanicals, perfect screws, and nearly new in all ways with its own case. The gun is priced to sell, and in .410 bore with fantastic 100% coverage engraving, it is a very solid investment quality gun that will be a pleasure to shoot at game or targets. Featuring the finest 26 3/8" chopper lump barrels choked LM/F (.007/.015 constrictions), concave rib, 3" chambers, striking fully marbled European walnut with drop points, checkered butt, 15 1/8" LOP to the rear position trigger, blank gold shield and long, graceful forend, checkered to perfection. The engraving is 100% full coverage tiny English scroll overlaid with dramatic flower and foliate acanthus scroll and a finely detailed bulino scene featuring quail in flight. What a fantastic, functional, work of art. Certainly ranking with some of the finest sidelock shotguns the world has ever seen, and putting Spanish guns to shame, you can invest in this gun at about 1/2 the price of a new one with same features.
