This Smith & Wesson Model U.S. Army Model 1917 is a large frame 6 shot double action revolver in .45 ACP Cal. It has a 5.5 inch barrel. A blade front and integral notch rear sight. The grip is a smooth walnut. It has a checkered hammer spur. The butt frame bottom is stamped U.S. Army 1917 and No. 50894. The barrel bottom is stamped "United States Property" and has a matching serial number to the butt. Manufactured 1918.
