Description:
An interesting 20 ga Full, and Full choked with 30 1/2" barrels, and relatively clean bores for a 19th century shotgun. The back action locks with chisel engraved lock-plates work well with matching hammers.A brass trigger guard, and butt-plate and German silver ram-rod ferrule. Has an early type sling swivel attached to the second ram-rod pipe. The bolster look over sized and may have been changed, with recently added newer nipples. Comes with a hard wood ramrod. No markings on the gun accept under the barrels is the name: GHELLER, most likely German or Dutch. The black walnut stock is very good and has turned a dark color. The wedge is just a flat brass formed wedge, and may not be original. Overall an interesting gun with a odd maker name. Check my inventory of rare grips, unusual gun parts, barrels and holsters.
