RARE 1947 SMITH & WESSON 1926 MODEL .44 TARGET PRE 24 3RD MODEL HAND EJECTOR (H.E.) .44 SPECIAL 6 1/2" BLUE REVOLVER. Serial number "S719XX" and all matching except grips which are numbered to another gun from the period. Serial numbers match butt, barrel(ejector rod recess), crane(facing cylinder) and cylinder itself. Rare 1926 model .44 target with supposedly very few made in this config with serrated straps, target sights, partridge front sight, ribbed barrel, etc. 97% of the original factory blue with balance at cylinder stops(drag line) and a few edges and near S&W moniker on left barrel(see photos). N 5 screw frame with excellent screws. Case colors still on trigger and hammer. Crisp markings. Mint bore, rifling and chambers. Tight lock-up and cycles perfectly. Became the Model 24 after 1957. 2nd year of production for the 3rd Model hand ejector. According to "Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson" by Jim Supica & Richard Nahas (page 103) this is one of 100 made between 1946-1950.
