Winchester Model of 1892 .44-40 wcf. Sporting Rifle with 24 inch Factory Octagon Barrel. The serial number of this example is 1787XX placing date of manufacture in 1899-1900. Overall condition is very good plus with approx. 60% of the original untouched factory finish remaining now toning to a very nice even patina. The bore is way above average. Strong rifling and shine from breech too muzzle. The bore will rate a 9 on a 1 to 10 scale. The action is tight, smooth and mechanically perfect. Wood to metal fit is perfect with no damage observed.
