Description:
Winchester Model of 1876 Sporting Rifle 26 Inch Factory Barrel .50 Express. The serial number of this example is 177XX placing date of manufacture in 1881. Overall condition is good with the Factory Blue Finish toned to a very nice patina. The bore is very good with strong rifling and shine from breech to muzzle. You will find scattered pitting as expected from an early second model. The bore will rate an 8 on a 1 to 10 scale. The rear sight is a Carbine type appears to be original to the rifle based on the matching patina and blue found in the protected areas of the sight base. The action is tight, smooth and mechanically perfect. This is an affordable Early Second Model .50 Express.
