Description:
A very nice Winchester Model 54 with the later "NRA" style stock. S/N 38***A made in 1933. Bolt has matching # scribed upon it. 24" Barrel with bright bore and strong rifling. Mechanics are great. Condition of Blue on barreled action is quite good, about 90%. The floor plate and butt plate have worn to a greyish patina as usual. The wood is in fine shape without any modifications structurally nor any cracks. Rear sight is a replacement, probably King? Rear receiver bridge remains UNDRILLED. Model 54 Winchesters exhibit a level of workmanship every bit on a par with their immediate successor (the Pre War Model 70) for half the price. Unmolested examples such as this remain one of the greatest values ever in a supreme quality sporting rifle.
