CLASSIC 1898 KRAG RIFLE, #282XXX, MADE 1899. Nice example with sharp 1899 stock cartouche (matching the manufacture date as determined by the serial number), mottled gray receiver with excellent markings and no extra holes etc. Good thinning barrel blue with correct sights. Forend cap/bayonet lug missing only the wire sling swivel which should be easy to replace. Bore is a little dark, but excellent and not pitted. Unusual golden colored walnut stock and matching original handguard generally excellent
