Description:
NEVER WORN, This is an original, antique, smoke colored, Indian tanned LEVIS CUT buckskin trouser.  Likely sewn, on a hand cranked sewing machine. These trousers were made about 1860 to 1870.  It was made of native tanned deer skin. EVERY  STITCH IS THE SAME SIZE AND PERFECTLY UNIFORM and not a single stitch is missing or loose. Around each button hole is the machine stitching. The buttons are ORIGINAL ANTIQUE JAPANNED AND STIPPLED STEEL 9/16 INCH BUTTONS. With not one of the original 10 buttons missing. 9 are as new with one having a little rust. These trouser are very plain with only the chevron shaped suspenders tabs and hip pocket Levis-esque decoration. I believe these were Native American made as the upper leg is cut as though they were making Indian style leggings and the button fly and rear wedge shapes were added ala-Levis. These trousers are for a waist size 36” to 38” with a 34” inseam. They are of museum quality and certainly tells a story of transition in the American West. These trousers were likely made for a cowboy or Indian changing with the times. Trousers of this style were often made by Indian women for frontiersman, miners, soldiers, cowboys during our westward expansion and can be seen in old photos of early cowboys. The accompanying props are not included. Very Rare to find in AS NEW CONDITION as these were often used up. Great for a museum, cowboy room, antique gun display. FROM THE REAL WEST.    We always answer questions and entertain offers. The shirt form it available if you are interested.
