Scarce Smith & Wesson Large Frame Volcanic Pistol, this Volcanic is one of the first Smith and Wesson firearms manufactured. This example is a Large Frame which is significantly harder to find then it’s pocket model counterpart. This Volcanic bears an 8” barrel with the original correct address “Smith & Wesson” “Cast Steel” “Norwich Ct” “Patent”. The finish on this example has turned to a light patina. The frame shows great factory Engraving that is commonly found on all examples manufactured. The lever is very tight and only has a tad little droop that is much better then normal examples you will see. The action functions excellent. This is an excellent example of a very difficult Volcanic to find.
