Many of these guns left over from the Mexican War of 1848 were used by the Confederate army. The tulip ramrod is intact, and the locking works well. Tiny peice of wood has been replaced near the nipple effects nothing. This has an exrta, a leather thong has a WINCHESTER NO.12 BRASS SHOTGUN SHELL ,CIRCA 1890, CUT AT AN ANGLE TO USE AS A SCOOP TO FILL THE BARREL WITH THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF POWDER, THIS IS UNTOUCHED IN AS FOUND CONDITION.
