Description:
This is a Late WWII Karabiner 98k rifle manufactured by Waffenwerke Bruenn AG, Brno, Czechoslovakia in 1944. The top of the receiver ring is marked with "dot" over "1944", the left side wall is marked "Mod. 98" and the left rear of the barrel is marked with the Nazi firing proof and the serial number. The bolt assembly is numbered to the gun along with the front barrel band and the rear sight assembly. Solid piece front barrel band, milled rear band (not matching), stamped trigger guard and stamped floor plate. Fixed front sight and tangent rear sight graduated to 2,000 meters and mounted with a one piece pistol grip laminated stock with handguard and cupped buttplate. The stock is not matching to the rifle but IS an original WW2 K98 stock. The stock has been lightly sanded, but you can still make out the "Eagle H" cartouche and Waffenamts on the buttstock indicating German Army acceptance and issue . The bore is in excellent mechanical condition with sharp lands and grooves and no visible frosting. It does not come with a cleaning rod. This is a good example of a late World War Two Mauser rifle and would be excellent in a collection or perfect for shooting at the range.
