This Factory Engraved Colt 1849 Pocket has some very interesting engraving. This Pocket serial number 49025 shows an extremely early pre Donut Style Engraving. This has a similar appearence but is no way considered the donut style. This revolver sports absolutely beautiful Burl Wood grips. Much of the original silver finish remains on the trigger guard and backstrap. The engraving is excellent and likely executed by John Barlow since this is a pre Gustave Young gun. Mechanically the Colt functions well! A beautiful and somewhat scarce very early engraved 1849 Pocket with some very interesting engraving that could've possibly been for an Exhibition.
