Description:
The late Hiroo Sugaya or "Shiro Ogawa" is a master of his craft. He is Japanese, but shows German, Austrian style, thus their influence in his work. His cuts are more open, scrolls are larger, brighter cuts with a lot of background use. His work is extremely fine and embellished as seen in this Remington Model 1917. Nearly full coverage of floral scroll engraving on the receiver, floor plate/trigger guard and half way down the top of the barrel. Stock is carved in a similar floral style with two bull elk fighting on one side. Forearm and pistol grip have similar matching engraving.  Bolt and extractor are jeweled.  It is a master piece and fine example of his work.
