Description:
Smith & Wesson Model 27-3, .357 magnum, double-action/single-action revolver, with a 6-inch barrel, original wood stocks, target hammer (0.500 inch wide) with checkered spur, target trigger (0.40 inch wide) with grooved face, open adjustable rear sight, and a bright blue finish.  The revolver has a three-screw configuration, with one screw (#3) under the stock.  Based on its serial number, the date of manufacture is late 1980s, probably 1987.  The gun was discontinued in 1994.  There is no box, papers, or accessories with this revolver.

The overall condition of this gun is 99 percent.  A really beautiful gun, the photos don’t do it justice.  The finishes on the metal and wood are all original, and is practically perfect, with one  small exception (see comments below on the bluing).  Though I cannot guarantee this, the gun looks as though it has never been fired.  The cylinder lock ring is very light, and the front of the cylinder shows no carbon stain, which is almost impossible to entirely remove once a revolver has been fired.  See the photos of the cylinder ring and the front of the cylinder.  The original wood grips have no marks or stains of any kind.  The checkering is perfect.  What looks like a blemish on the right grip panel below the screw is a natural mark in the wood.  See the photos.  The bluing and metal are perfect with one exception (or two, depending on how you look at it) -- on the front of the cylinder is an abrasion (a litte less than 1/4 inch x 1/16 inch) through the bluing and slightly into the metal; a similar mark (about half the size and a little lighter) is on the back of the cylinder, in line with the mark on the front of the cylinder.  Looks like something contacted the front and back of the cylinder at the same time.  There are no other blemishes, mars, stains, etc. anywhere else the gun.  As mentioned above, there are no box, papers, or accessories.

The photos are high resolution, so zoom to see details; please excuse the oil smears in the photos.  Contact me for additional photos of any area you would like to see or see better.

The buyer pays USPS Priority mail ($25), plus $18.40 insurance.

The fastest way to get this gun is to pay with USPS (U.S. Postal Service) money orders, as they are like cash.  I will ship the revolver immediately upon receipt of a USPS money order and an FFL.  I will also accept a personal check and other types of money orders, as well as bank checks and cashier's checks.  However, I will hold the gun until it clears my bank; this includes bank checks and cashier’s checks.  USPS money orders are limited to $1,000, so two USPS money orders will be required for this purchase.  I do not accept credit cards, debit cards, or PayPal.  Check or money order must be made out to Jerry Pownall.

If you wish to contact me, please "Email Seller".  I will answer your questions, explain the purchase and transfer process, and provide my mailing address.  I am available any time, except Friday evenings and Saturdays.  I will return emails Saturday evening.
