This Underwood M-1 Carbine Ser No. 6133XXX was mfg abt 3/44 and has all of the correct parts for that production run ( I use R.C.Larson's "M-1 Carbine -
2nd edition and U. S. Carbines -Wartime production by Craig Riesch 7th Edition for my reference info. Also every attempt is made to acturately describe
and depict exactly the status and/or the originality & condition of the parts therein as possible). The gun bluing and parkerization of this particular Underwood
is consistant throughout w/the exception of the cast trigger housing. Which is a more medium gray type parkerizing. The bore is a mirror and has a nice deep twist.
The muzzle measures "0" ( An excellent prospect for both a shooter and collector's piece).
The stock is a smooth dark walnut w/only one very small handling mark on the bottom near the magazine otherwise it is excellent. There are no cracks, dings or rubbs
and the finish is a nice even stain as an original issue type would be. The handguard is a T - 1 w/one hole and perfect. The action is also.

block "S", Barrel - w/the mfg date of "3-44 Underwood & Flaming Bomb proof marks & w/a short barrel skirt, Bolt - T2 Marked "U" wthe correct internal Firing Pin, Extractor & ejector, Trig Hsg - T4 (Cast) w/thw "U" marked in the mag well, Trigger & Sear-T2 w/the "u", Hammer - T3 w/the mark of "wu", Safety - T2 w/the mark "um,
Mag Catch - T3 w/the mark "u", Oper Side - T4 w/the "WU", Stock - T3 Low Wood w/ the cartouche of G.H.D./ U.E.F. and "Trimble/TN marked in the sling well, Handguard - T1 w/M-O on the underside, Recoil Plate- T3 w/Au imprinted, Recoil Screw - Short Thread (.600"), Barrel Band - T2 w/ the stamped letters of "um",
Butt Plate - Correct Underwood type.
This Underwood to me is an overal 98% and would make a fine collector piece.
