RARE 1932 SMITH & WESSON PRE-WAR .38/44 H.E. OUTDOORSMAN N-FRAME 5-SCREW .38 SPECIAL 5" REVOLVER. Serial number "39,XXX" and all matching except later S&W grips. 2nd year of production and one of approx 4,700 made in the pre-war outdoorsman style, let alone in a target version. Almost all the original high gloss factory brilliant blue remains with balance at edges and cylinder. Unturned screws. Case color still on hammer and trigger. Correct partridge front sight on rare 5" barrel(special order). Correct rear adjustable target sight contoured to the top strap held by three small screws). Crisp factory markings so NEVER refinished. Mint bore, rifling and chambers. Functions as it should for a Pre-War S&W. Rare in this 5" barrel length. Destined to become the Model 23.
