Description:
Here is a HJ Hussey Imperial Ejector 12 Gauge Game complete with original oak and leather makers case. This London best gun has remained since original purchase with one Boston Family until recently. Finely engraved with Purdey style rose and scroll. Original case colors in protected areas. Barrels are 28" and have mirror bores and 2 3/4" chambers. Nitro proofed. Right barrel measures .735 with 3/1000 choke (Open IC) while left is .737 with 12/1000 (Open Mod). I suspect these would have been ideal chokes for a New England hunter of that time period. Gun is on face presently with a very slight wiggle. If this gun were to receive active shooting it would be a future candidate for re-jointing. Barrels ring true with no loose ribs. Stock is well figured and solid with no cracks except a small start/stop behid the right lockplate about 3/4" in length. Forend has two small areas at tip missing wood. Checkering has worn smooth. Ejectors are well timed. The original and leather case remains in excellent condition with all assesories including - makers snap caps, turnscrews, cleaning rod (under the barrels), oil bottle, spare firing pins in ivory or horn bottle and a field cleaing kit in a leather case. Original charge card and makers label in case. It is remarkable that all these items have remained with the case! Weight of the gun is 6 LBS 14 1/4 OZ.
