Shipped to one of the west's most desirable locations, this factory engraved .45 Single Action Colt was shipped to Charles Hummel & Son located in San Antonio, Texas on January 5, 1895. Hummel was one of the largest and most famous western dealers, and supplied guns to outlaws and lawmen alike, including the Texas Rangers. While it has bee replated at some time in the past, no parts have been replaced, and it is a wonderful example of the Cuno Helfricht style, with flowing vine scrolls and punch dot background, which has become accepted as the typical "cowboy" style. The beautiful pearl grips were most likely fitted by Charles Hummel when the gun was new, and now have taken on an attractive aged patina appearance. The gun is in perfect working condition and has a very good, clean bore. All in all, this is a great example of a deluxe, antique Colt six-shooter with western provinance.
