J. Braddell & Son 8 Gauge Hammer Double Barrel Shotgun. London Proof Marks. 11.5 lbs. and well balanced. Jones underlever action, strong original case colors, 3 1/2" chambers, 36.75" damascus barrels (mirror bores, chambers show some light pitting), 3 1/2" chambers, brass bead front sight, barrels are tight and on face. English Proof marks on water table and barrel flats. Checkered walnut pistol grip stock, 14.5" length of pull to steel butt plate, gold escutcheon, steel grip cap. Horn forend insert. Screws are excellent. Shows some signs of wear, numerous small dings and scratches to wood, some oxidation on the inner trigger guard, butt plate, and spotting on barrel, otherwise most of the original finish remains. Black Powder Shells Only. Antique.
